Today was Hunter's first ABA therapy session. The girl was a little late because she went to the wrong street. Hunter was still a little clingy that early in the morning, so I sat in on the first hour. Hunter was on his best behavior- doing everything asked of him, but looking to me for reassurance often. The second hour we decided to have me stay out of the room so that he would get more comfortable with the therapist. Needless to say Hunter screamed the whole second hour! I sat patiently in the hall waiting to be called in which never happened. I got up to see what time it was only to find Dax, my calm quiet 8 yr old dog eating the therapist's shoe! He has never done anything like that before! She was nice about it and tried to laugh it off, while Hunter was screaming in her face, but I was mortified! I am so embarassed that this happened and fully expected to get her a gift card for her to get new shoes. Unfortunately their company policy won't allow her to accept it. So now I feel horrible and can't do anything about it! I will totally understand if they don't come back tomorrow!
In other news, I was able to get Hunter's hearing evaluation scheduled for December 8th and his OT interview scheduled for tomorrow!
Hopefully tomorrow will be a little smoother! If not is anyone interested in a loving 8 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback or a 30 year old suffering a mental breakdown?
